FCC Designates Key Bridge Global as TV White Space Database Administrator
McLean, VA – Key Bridge Global LLC today announced that the Federal Communications Commission has conditionally designated the company to operate a TV Bands “White Space” database system and administer unlicensed use of approximately 300 MHz of spectrum in the UHF and VHF television bands.
The conditional designation, part of the FCC’s implementation of its National Broadband Plan, positions Key Bridge among a select group of administrators approved to manage dynamic access to unused TV spectrum while providing robust protection for incumbent services, including broadcast television stations and licensed wireless microphones.
Over the past two and a half years, Key Bridge has actively contributed to FCC proceedings on TV White Spaces, with technical and policy proposals cited more than 28 times in the Commission’s final Report and Order. The designation reflects the strength of Key Bridge’s neutral, high-performance platform designed to maximize spectrum availability while ensuring interference-free coexistence.
“Over the past two and a half years Key Bridge has been a thought leader and frequent contributor to the Commission with improvements for White Space spectrum sharing,” said Jesse Caulfield, President of Key Bridge Global LLC. “I am very proud of our progress so far and proud to have contributed to this important milestone to implement the Commission’s broadband plan. The FCC’s stated goal throughout this process, and now our mandate, is to provide neutral spectrum administration—making the maximum amount of spectrum available for wireless broadband while delivering meaningful protections for existing operators.”
Key Bridge looks forward to collaborating with the FCC and other designated administrators to bring TV White Space services to market successfully.
