FCC Approves Key Bridge ESC for Incumbent Protection with RED SAS and Amdocs Amendment
McLean, VA – Key Bridge Wireless LLC today announced that the Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of its Environmental Sensing Capability (ESC) network by RED Technologies for incumbent protection in the 3.5 GHz Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band, alongside an amendment supporting Amdocs.
The approval, issued on September 22, 2023, under GN Docket No. 15-319, certifies RED Technologies as a Spectrum Access System (SAS) administrator and authorizes its integration with Key Bridge’s neutral ESC for real-time detection and protection of federal radar systems. This builds on prior integrations, including Amdocs’ use of Key Bridge’s ESC.
As a proven neutral ESC operator and FCC-certified SAS administrator, Key Bridge continues to enable multi-SAS environments that ensure reliable, interference-free operations while maximizing spectrum access for commercial users.
“This approval highlights the strength of our neutral ESC platform and the growing interoperability in the CBRS ecosystem,” said Jesse Caulfield, CEO of Key Bridge Wireless. “By supporting new administrators like RED Technologies and established partners like Amdocs, we’re helping drive broader adoption of shared mid-band spectrum for private networks and innovative wireless services.”
Key Bridge remains committed to advancing the CBRS framework through collaboration with industry stakeholders and adherence to Wireless Innovation Forum standards.
