FCC Certifies Key Bridge TV White Space Database System for Commercial Operations
McLean, VA – Key Bridge Global LLC today announced that the Federal Communications Commission has granted full certification and approval for its TV White Space database system to operate commercially nationwide.
The approval, issued on November 19, 2013, by the FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology (DA-13-2210), confirms that Key Bridge’s system meets all requirements for providing service to certified unlicensed devices operating in the TV broadcast bands. This milestone enables dynamic access to unused TV spectrum—commonly referred to as TV White Spaces—while ensuring robust protection for licensed broadcasters, wireless microphones, and other incumbent services.
Key Bridge becomes the fourth approved TV White Space database administrator, joining a select group that includes Spectrum Bridge, Telcordia, and Google. The certification follows successful completion of required testing and public trials, demonstrating the system’s reliability, security, and interoperability.
“We recognize that FCC certification is just the beginning, and with this important milestone behind us we intend to keep up if not increase our pace of innovation in this field,” said Jesse Caulfield, President of Key Bridge Global LLC. “Our neutral, high-performance platform will support the growth of wireless broadband and new applications by making shared spectrum simple and accessible for device manufacturers, service providers, and users.”
Key Bridge’s TV White Space system is now fully operational for commercial deployments across the United States.
