Key Bridge and Cognitive Systems Partner to Deliver CBRS Spectrum Access
Date: May 31, 2016
McLean, VA – Today I’m excited to share that Key Bridge LLC and Cognitive Systems Corp. have teamed up to provide advanced spectrum monitoring and management services in the 3.5 GHz Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band.
We’ve submitted a joint proposal to the FCC that will deliver a complete, secure, and neutral Environmental Sensing Capability (ESC) along the East and West coasts in support of FCC-certified Spectrum Access Systems. I will also operate an open, neutral Spectrum Access System and leverage this ESC for comprehensive spectrum monitoring.
This partnership is especially meaningful to me—Cognitive Systems has developed a truly impressive platform, and I’m thrilled to collaborate with them on CBRS and potentially other shared spectrum bands we administer.
“The Cognitive Systems/Key Bridge ESC infrastructure will provide rapid transmitter detection and identification and will enable us to provide incumbent service protection and broadband coexistence capabilities in the 3.5 GHz band,” I noted. “Cognitive Systems has created a stunningly capable platform. I am very excited to work with Cognitive in this and also in other shared spectrum bands that we administer.”
Taj Manku, co-founder of Cognitive Systems Corp., added: “The M10 is ideal for monitoring wireless networks to enable spectrum sharing. The CBRS 3.5 GHz band presents a complex spectrum sensing challenge, and our integrated system is well suited to the task.”
We look forward to working with the FCC, industry partners, and the broader ecosystem as we advance this important capability.
Thank you for your continued support.
