FCC Approves Key Bridge as an ESC Operator for CBRS Incumbent Protection
Date: July 15, 2020
McLean, VA – I’m pleased to share that the FCC has approved our updated ESC operational plans, further solidifying our role as a neutral Environmental Sensing Capability operator in the 3.5 GHz CBRS band.
This approval builds on our successful certification testing last year and enables us to continue providing real-time incumbent detection along U.S. coastlines and key inland areas.
For me, reliable incumbent protection remains the foundation of everything we do in CBRS. Our ESC network is designed to ensure federal radar operations are never impacted while maximizing spectrum access for commercial users.
I want to express my sincere appreciation to the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Engineering and Technology for their continued leadership and careful oversight. Their vision for innovative spectrum sharing has made CBRS a model for the world. We’re also thankful to the Wireless Innovation Forum for establishing the technical standards and consensus that enable a healthy, interoperable ecosystem.
Thank you to our team and partners for making this possible.
