Achieving Commercial ESC Operations in the 3.5 GHz Band
Date: December 22, 2020
McLean, VA – Today marks a major milestone: the FCC has authorized us to commence full commercial ESC operations in the CBRS band, following approvals for sensor deployments and operational plans throughout 2020.
This series of clearances enables our ESC network to provide real-time protection for federal incumbents while supporting dynamic access for PAL holders and GAA users nationwide.
Reaching commercial operations validates years of investment in reliable, neutral sensing technology—and I’m deeply appreciative of the FCC’s leadership, particularly from the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Engineering and Technology, in shepherding this innovative sharing regime from concept to reality.
The Wireless Innovation Forum’s efforts in forging industry consensus and detailed standards have been equally vital to the ecosystem’s success.
Thank you to our SAS partners and the broader community for their collaboration in bringing shared spectrum to life.
