Introducing Our Free SAS Test & Trial Program
If you're developing, integrating, or validating CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) equipment, you know how critical it is to test against a real, production-grade Spectrum Access System (SAS). Theoretical simulations are helpful, but nothing beats interacting with a live SAS to verify the full radio lifecycle—from registration and spectrum inquiry to grants, heartbeats, and more.
We're excited to announce expanded support for a powerful, officially recognized testing tool: the special FCC equipment authorization code: OPS10.
Created by the FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) lab specifically for CBRS testing and validation, this equipment authorization code is now fully supported on our production SAS platform. It lets you perform genuine end-to-end trials without any special sandbox or separate test environment.
How It Works: Simple Setup, Real-World Testing
To get started, simply set your radio's FCC_ID to OPS10.
When your CBSD (Citizens Broadband Service Device) uses this code:
Our SAS recognizes the OPS10 code and handles your test radios safely and transparently, exactly as it would any certified CBSD.
Important Safety Limitations (Designed for Testing Only)
To prevent any risk of interference or misuse on live networks, test grants using OPS10 come with built-in safeguards:
All spectrum grants are issued with a SUSPENDED status.
→ They can never be used for actual transmission.
Test grants are automatically terminated at midnight every night.
→ This ensures no lingering authorizations carry over.
Test radios cannot interact with PAL (Priority Access License) licenses.
→ They receive no PAL grants and remain strictly in the General Authorized Access (GAA) domain for testing.
These restrictions keep testing isolated and compliant while giving you realistic SAS behavior.
Trial Program Details: Generous and Flexible
We've made it easy and cost-effective to get started:
Up to 100 radios can use the OPS10 FCC_ID for free at any time.
→ These do not count against your regular device quota.
Quantities above 100 are billed normally (counted against your quota).
Our standard flat-rate plan remains $500/month, which includes support for up to 100 radios (beyond the free test tier).
For pure trial/testing scenarios (no production radios), take advantage of our special 2-month waiver:
→ Zero cost for up to 100 OPS10 test radios on our production SAS.
→ Perfect for initial evaluations, proof-of-concepts, integration testing, or certification prep.
This waiver is ideal if you're just getting started with CBRS or validating interoperability before committing to full deployment.
