The 71–76, 81–86 and 92–95 GHz bands are used for point-to-point high-bandwidth communication links. These higher frequencies do not suffer from oxygen absorption, and today’s range of radio products offer reliable data throughput from 1 to 40 Gbps.
In the United States a nationwide millimeter wave license from the FCC is required to register millimeter wave links in the 70/80/90 GHz band. License applications are typically granted within one business day for private commercial uses.
